  • School System Begins Strategic Planning ProcessSchool System Begins Strategic Planning Process
    SCSS kicked off a strategic planning process with a "Community Conversation" on Sept. 25, 2014 at the Screven County Recreation Department. Over 40 stakeholders met to begin the process of charting the future of our school system. Click here to see the report from the Community Conversation.
  • Screven County Teachers of the Year
    Congratulations to Kelly Chandler for being named the Screven County Teacher of the Year!  Mrs. Chandler will represent Screven County Schools in state competition.  Congratulations to Erin Thames at SCES and Terry Markovcic at SCHS for being named Teacher of the Year at their schools.  
  • Former GSU Star Adrian Peterson Visits SchoolsFormer GSU Star Adrian Peterson Visits Schools
    Adrian Peterson, former GSU and Chicago Bears star running back, visited each school and spoke at the District Family Night on Oct. 16. AP encouraged students to work hard in school, maximize their talents, and listen to their parents. He encouraged parents to be involved, loving, and tough. According to Adrian, "hard work pays off!"
Opportunities for Parent Involvement
    School Council Meetings will be held at 5:00pm at SCES on November 18th, at SCMS on November 19th, and at SCHS on November 20th. Feedback and input needed on Title I program, School Wide Plan, and Parental Involvement plans.
  • Monthly Board of Education Meetings
    The Screven County School Board meets the second Monday of each month at the County Office at 5:00 p.m.  Public participation is welcome.
  • PTO meetings each month
    Contact your child's school about becoming involved in the PTO.
